Pursuit of the Heart

Pursuit of the Heart

Elena was ordered by the courts to take our parenting classes. As you might imagine – when she first arrived at our center, she was pretty angry about having to be there. She was short in her responses to our questions, and it was obvious she didn’t want to engage with our program.

But God’s desire was to pursue her heart. Slowly, He gave us opportunities to show Elena kindness and love. We were able to tell her about the Heavenly Father who values her. She became more and more open with her advocate, and willingly accepted prayer after each session.

Elena eventually finished all her lessons and received her certificate of completion.  After her final session, she said, “I’m really going to miss you all.”  Then, she donated much of the CARE Cash she had earned to bless a future client who found herself in a similar situation as she was!

We were all so blessed by the transformation that took place in Elena’s life! And we pray God brings the good work He started in her to completion. 2 Thessalonians 3:5 says, “May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.” That is our ongoing prayer – that God, in His mercy, would direct all of our hearts into His love and to the steadfastness of Jesus.
